Johnson Development presents Houston’s largest home tour with jaw-dropping designs and extraordinary architectural details from renowned builders.

APRIL 27: East Montrose Civic Association’s Biennial Home Tour
Join the East Montrose Civic Association for its 12th Biennial Home Tour and Art Walk, featuring an inside look at five homes ranging from historic to ultra-contemporary. Local art studios are also on the tour, making this a must see for every architecture/fine arts aficionado.

APRIL 27-28: Victoria Preservation Inc.’s 2019 Historic Homes Tour
The heritage and history of Victoria County has been lovingly preserved, a history that includes an 1885 bandstand, the 1910 Leibold building, and the Theodore Buhler house, a circa 1890 Queen Anne. Find out which stunners are on this year’s tour.

APRIL 27-29: Rice Design Alliance 2019 Houston Architecture Tour
This year’s theme is “Adapt,” with RDA selecting unique structures that channel the power of the sun, additions that blend with existing construction and more.

There’s something calming about listening to the sounds of a waterfall or fountain, and getting caught up watching the fish swim under and around the water lilies. Here’s your chance to tour several backyard ponds and water gardens over two weekends and ask homeowners for tips and tricks. and

MAY 4-5, 11-12: 45th Annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour
Each year the Galveston Historical Foundation seeks out extraordinary homes that preserve the rich history of Galveston. The private homes can be intimately small or magnificently large, but they all offer a unique look at the architecture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Pick up our May issue for an in-depth look at all of the houses on this year’s tour, as well as companion programming such as dinners and concerts.

APRIL 10: Miniature Gardens for Indoors
If you still believe in magic, then check out this “Lunch With the Experts” class that takes the principles found in fairy gardening, train gardens and gnome homes to create a miniature garden for the indoors. Instructor Angela Chandler of The Garden Academy, who also teaches stained glass, is giving away a miniature stained glass panel to one lucky guest.

APRIL 11-14: 32nd Annual Houston Art Car Parade
Embrace four days of wacky and weird with this weekend of art car events powered by the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art. The Main Street Drag and Sneak Peek at Discovery Green are both on Thursday, the Legendary Art Car Ball is Friday, then Saturday brings a plethora of parties plus the big parade. It all wraps up with an award ceremony on Sunday.
